Aspen Extends Winter Season to mid-April

aspen ajax mountain

Spring is on the horizon, but winter isn’t over in Aspen. The iconic ski destination just hit 300 inches of snow on the heels of four straight months of above average snowfall, prompting Aspen to extend the seasons on Highlands until April 16 and Ajax until April 24.

Not only are March and April typically Aspen’s snowiest months, they’re also among the most beautiful. Aprés season arrives with bluebird skies, sundeck parties and epic conditions. ASPENX offers unforgettable experiences you cannot get anywhere else, like private snowcat trips with expert guides, cocktails and light bites at 11,000 feet at ASPENX Beach Club, elevated dining at remote Buckhorn Cabin (reachable by snow cat), and private winter table dining experiences with Chef Matthew Zubrod.

ASPENX Beach Club

The classic Aspen aprés experience is elevated at ASPENX Beach Club, located atop a private plateau on Aspen Mountain with breathtaking views of Highland Bowl and the Elk Range. Created in partnership with Gray Malin and hosted by Burgess Yachts, Beach Club gathers the best of sand and snow under signature striped cabanas, providing revelers with cocktails, light bites, and a live DJ. ASPENX Beach Club is open Friday through Sunday from noon to 3pm until April 16, 2023. Tickets are limited and available from $150 at www.aspenx.com

Buckhorn Cabin Elevated Dining – Après Lunch & Cat

Aprés ski doesn’t have to happen at the base of the mountain. ASPENX elevates this beloved Aspen skiing tradition to 10,870 feet, paired with a private snowcat trip. Loosen your ski boots and soak in views of peaks like the 13,316-foot Mount Hayden over a plated 3-course lunch by Chef Matt Zubrod and wine pairings, and access to Buckhorn Cabin. Following your feast, board a private snowcat and ride to Aspen as the sun sets. This experience can accommodate up to 22 guests. Call the ASPENX concierge at 970.920.6355 to book.

ASPENX Chefs’ Table Winter Dining Experience

An intimate dining experience for 10 people by one of ASPENX finest Chef’s, Matthew Zubrod, Culinary Director of The Little Nell Hospitality Group. This four-hour culinary adventure includes a curated tequila tasting and mixology experience, amuse-bouche in the heart of the kitchen, followed by an  8-course tasting menu paired with wine pairings.
